Biography

Born 1946 in Copenhagen. Piano lessons with Leif Bülow Nielsen 1967-68, then private studies.

Spent some instructive years with Gruppen for Alternativ Musik 1971-1974, where the elegy "Halvfem" was performed at a concert in Nikolaj Church on the occasion of the close down of the last tram in Copenhagen. Thereafter committee work with Det Unge Tonekunstnerselskab (DUT) and Danish Composers Society for some years.

The first 1st performance was "Sekstet" for flute, oboe and string quartet at a DUT-concert in 1971. Compositions for small and greater ensembles, among others "Circulations" for piano (1976) to Elisabeth Klein, published by The Society for the Publication of Danish Music.

The suite for orchestra "The little Prince" was 1st performed at concert arrangements for young Nordic composers in Oslo 1973. "Savoyages" symphony i 2 movements played by Sønderjyllands Symphony Orchestra in 1974. "Dancing Circus" commissioned and 1st performed by Randers City Orchestra conducted by Lavard Friisholm in 1977. "3 pieces for wind quintet" commissioned and 1st performed by The Danish Wind Quintet in 1977. "Quintet" commissioned by Randers Festival 1978 and 1st performed at the same occasion.

From more recent works can be mentioned "Symphonic Jazz 1, traditional" (2006), "Helike Athanatos", opera, libretto in old greek by Franz Knappik after idea by Andreas Drekis (2009-2014), "Lights" for orchestra and piano solo (2013), "Struggling Waters" for symphony orchestra (2015).

Musical project

In co-operation with daughters Anne, Charlotte and Eva  the musical Shine On was initiated 1996. It's a lovestory/-adventure in 2 parts.

Manuscript, stage directions, dialogs, songtexts - all in English version (Danish version is planned for 2016). Vocal-/pianoversion, full score, parts (symphony orchestra with rhythm group). Smaller ensemble is arrangeable. The project is very suitable for an amateur ensemble.
